Jews and Race will look at the historical and aesthetic role of Jewish identity in American discourses about race and ethnicity. It will also focus on the relationship between Jews and other racial and ethnic groups in America and the ways in which Jewish American writers and intellectuals have participated in debates about America’s changing racial and ethnic map. It will introduce students to a variety of global non-white communities of Jews and the history of the Jewish diaspora across all inhabited continents.  – Prerequisite Definition: To take this course you must: Have taken the following Course ENGL1001 min grade D-.
