Students will focus on writings by James Phelan, Maura Spiegel, Rita Charon, Nate Whelan-Jackson, Rebecca Linderberg, Johanna Hedva, Lennard Davis, Harriet McBryde Johnson, Jim Ferris, Jay Dolmage, Theri Pickens, Margaret Price, and others as they continue to shape medical humanities and disability studies and the medical and educational institutions and communities associated with them. Students will engage with texts, experiential learning, and each other Assessment through formal and informal papers, presentation, participation. Graduate student course (ENGL6000) and undergraduate course (ENGL4006) will share texts and online and in-person discourse community but will complete different assignments.
