Students will focus on texts in a variety of genres of scholarly and creative works which continue to shape the field and direction of disability studies and the related field of medical humanities. Through cultural, historical, structural, and narrative analysis, we will consider the critical interventions these texts make with respect to social, cultural, and institutional knowledge about disability and illness. Assessment through formal and informal papers, presentation, participation.
